< Back to Artists

Jill moved to York from Brighton. She’s had many solo and group shows and her work's all over the place - from Rwanda to Peru, Tasmania to the Turks and Caicos! She loves the sea. She experiments with materials and techniques, often using her own hand-made paper which has a unique, unpredictable texture. Paints, inks, dyes and pigments build up intense and glowing colour and she enjoys combining throwaway or reclaimed elements with gold and silver leaf. Favourite themes include night skies, the light on the sea, and questions surrounding value and worth.

Venue: Slipway Cottage,Chapel Yard S
