Staithes Festival of Arts & Heritage has established itself as one of the friendliest festivals on the Yorkshire coast — a must-see weekend in the regional arts calendar.

Step inside a village like no other as the doors of cottages are thrown open, transforming Staithes into a trail of pop-up art galleries showcasing painting, print, ceramics, textiles, sculpture, photography and more.

Alongside the open studios, enjoy a programme celebrating Staithes’ rich history and heritage, including walks, talks, photographs and film shows.

Lesley has been creating and exhibiting her stylised ,ceramic sculptures in galleries and ceramics shows throughout the UK for over thirty years. During this time she has received awards from both her peers and arts and crafts organisations.Her inspiration is taken from animal representations in folk tales, rhymes and mythology as well as personal encounters at home and abroad. Some of Lesley’s most recent works are informed by her frequent visits to the coast having relocated to East Yorkshire in 2015. All works are individually hand built in clay and fired up to three times in an electric kiln.
