Step inside a village like no other as the doors of cottages are thrown open, transforming Staithes into a trail of pop-up art galleries showcasing painting, print, ceramics, textiles, sculpture, photography and more.

Caroline Lewis

Staithes holds a special place in my heart and I visit often. I especially love to paint water and Staithes can look so different with the tidal or weather changes offering me different painting opportunities. Based in Teesside, my work mainly features local, iconic landscapes of the North East. I have original paintings, giclee prints, greeting cards and mini-canvases available. Robins are also a firm favourite of mine and I’ve begun to create some hand painted bookmarks too. I paint using acrylics. Commissions are welcome.

Venue: Ted’s Workshop, Boathouse Yard, Staithes

Amy Lipscombe

Passionate about trompe l’oeil oil painting, Amy Lipscombe draws inspiration from both her home surroundings in the Peak District and her family home in Staithes. Her fascination with creating art that deceives the eye, began almost ten years ago. After completing her first trompe l’oeil painting, comprising of her grandmother’s possessions, Amy has continued refining her realism painting skills, whilst also creating illustrations of people, places, and pets. Following a career in interiors and now working among art and heritage, she continues to discover creativity in every aspect of life, bringing detail and depth into her artwork.

Venue: Windsor House, Church Street
